The start of this season was marked by the second edition of the Straight Up Invitational, an event that is particularly close to our hearts.

The idea is simple: to bring together the friends we grew up with, shared our passion for surfing with from a very young age, and with whom we experienced our first competitions. Surfers from the Basque Country, the Landes, but also from the islands—among the best of their generation—gathered on June 5th in front of Blue Cargo to share a day dedicated to surfing and good vibes.

The swell did not disappoint. Solid, demanding conditions provided a great show in front of Blue Cargo. The participants gave it their all to try and claim one of our famous crowns.

👑 Best layback: Diego Torre

A special mention to Louis Poupinel, author of the biggest “close-out” of the day, as well as to Camille Liets, who showed incredible determination by spending nearly 30 minutes battling through the break without ever giving up.

Beyond the performances, experiencing moments just like this is exactly why we organize the Straight Up Invitational. Bringing together the people who matter, sharing a session in an exceptional setting facing the ocean, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
